Cookies
There is no cookie banner on this site. Here is why.
What we store on your device
One cookie, and only while you are using the site. It keeps your session together so that a form you submit is recognised as coming from the page you submitted it from, which is an ordinary security measure. It holds no personal information, it is not shared with anyone, and it disappears when you close your browser.
Cookies like that do not need your permission, because the site cannot work safely without them. Everything else on this page is a thing we have chosen not to do.
Analytics without cookies
We count visits with Matomo, running on our own server (see Privacy). It is configured to store nothing at all on your device: no cookie, no identifier, nothing kept between visits. It tells us how many people opened a page and where they stopped, and it cannot follow you.
That is why there is no banner. There is no tracking to ask you about.
The cost of doing it this way is that our numbers are approximate. A returning visitor looks like a new one. We would rather have slightly fuzzy numbers than make you click a box.
What is not here
- No Google Analytics.
- No advertising cookies, no Meta or TikTok pixels, no retargeting tags.
- No third-party fonts, scripts or embeds phoning home from our pages.
- No profiling, no ad-network sharing, nothing sold to anybody.
When you pay
Paying takes you to Stripe's own checkout pages. Stripe sets its own cookies there, on its own domain, for security and fraud prevention. That is Stripe's business, and it is covered by Stripe's privacy policy. It happens on their site, not ours, and it stops when you come back.
